The redesigned Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ took the market by storm, building upon the legacy of the previous generation GT86/BRZ by adding sure-footed performance mated to a much more potent FA24 Boxer-4. We are huge fans of the vehicle's performance and believe it to be one of the best budget-friendly track day specials out there. However, appearances can be deceiving. While this car looks incredible on paper, owners should proceed with caution as the FA24 notoriously suffers from massive oil pressure loss when driven hard on the circuit, especially through right-hand corners. Many of you have asked for a solution to this common issue the FA24 motor presents, and we are here to deliver. Introducing our 3D Printed Aluminum Oil Pan, specifically designed for the FA24 motors in both GR86 and BRZ models.
The Verus Engineering 3D Printed Oil Pan integrates a baffle system that keeps the oil situated closer to the pickup during high-G driving maneuvers on the race track, giving your car the protection it needs to maintain positive oil pressure when you need it most. The increased oil capacity further protects the motor by allowing you to run more oil without the danger of overfilling. Finally, the increased capacity adds enhanced protection against overheating, another benefit that will please any track day driving enthusiast. Using scan data, we developed the oil pan to have an organic shape that contours around the header, maximizing the performance of the pan within the available space. We took special care to ensure the pan was compatible with the OEM exhaust header, allowing for easy installation while remaining EPA and CARB compliant. Through our own on-track data as well as data from many test users, we saw pressure drop as low as 23 PSI with the OEM pan installed. Once our pan was installed, we found it to work very well on the car, keeping pressures more stable and dramatically reducing the potential for premature bearing wear or outright engine failure due to oil pressure loss.
