4RUNNER SUSPENSION
4Runner Suspension FAQs
Factory suspension differs by grade. Per Toyota, TRD Off-Road uses monotube remote reservoir shocks, TRD Pro uses three-way adjustable internal bypass shocks with remote reservoirs, Trailhunter uses forged monotube shocks with remote reservoirs, and Limited and Platinum use adaptive variable suspension. TRD Pro and Trailhunter also get Toyota's Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism, which became optional on the i-FORCE MAX TRD Off-Road Premium for 2026.
For upgrades, we carry King Shocks 2.5 front coilovers and rear shocks with remote reservoirs, upper control arms from Camburg, aFe and Bilstein, Camburg and Whiteline rear trailing arms, and lift and leveling options from Westcott Designs and Tuff Country. Choose based on your grade's factory setup and how much lift you plan to run.
Per Toyota, the TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro and Trailhunter grades come with 33-inch tires on 18-inch wheels from the factory. Maximum tire size after a lift depends on the lift height, wheel offset and whether any trimming is done, so confirm clearance for your exact combination before ordering.
Our 2025+ 4Runner lift kit and leveling options include the Westcott Designs Preload Collar Lift Kit, the Westcott Designs Rear Only Lift Pucks and the Tuff Country 1.5" Front Leveling Kit. Contact us for help matching a lift, wheel and tire combination.
Every product page lists the model years, trims, and drivetrain configurations the part is built for, and every collection on this site is organized by platform. If your vehicle carries other modifications, or you are between model years or trims, send us your year, trim, and current setup before ordering and we will confirm fitment.
Orders are processed within one to five business days, excluding weekends, holidays, pre-orders, and backordered items. Orders over $199 ship free within the continental United States by ground service, excluding freight items. We also ship to Canada, Australia, and non-continental US destinations, where import duties and taxes are the customer's responsibility.
Toyota 4Runner Suspension and Lift Kits
Suspension is the foundation of every 4Runner build. This collection covers 4Runner lift kits, coilovers, rear springs, upper control arms, and the alignment and supporting hardware that makes a lifted 4Runner drive correctly instead of simply sitting higher.
What you should run depends on how the truck is loaded and used. A moderate lift with quality shocks improves ride quality and clearance on a daily driven 4Runner without any downside. Overland builds carrying a roof rack, drawers, a fridge, and recovery gear need rear spring rates matched to that weight, since the rear of a 4Runner sags quickly under load and an undersprung truck rides badly and wears components. Upper control arms restore correct ball joint angle and alignment range on lifted trucks, and they should be budgeted from the beginning rather than added after the fact.
