GR86 & BRZ Drivetrain FAQs
Manual GR86 and BRZ models hold stock power reliably, but the factory clutch becomes the limit once forced induction is added, or under repeated hard driving at the track. XClutch, ACT, Action Clutch, Clutch Masters, Competition Clutch and many more all offer upgraded options for the platform.
The factory Torsen limited slip differential is a genuine performance feature and works well for street and moderate track use. Owners chasing more consistent corner exit grip on track, particularly with added power, look at aftermarket options from OS Giken or Cusco, which builds upgraded differentials for the platform.
GReddy, Cusco, and Harrop all offer upgraded differential covers that increases oil capacity and help dissipate heat with integrated cooling fins.
For most street driven cars, differential fluid quality matters more than swapping the unit itself.
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void an entire factory warranty simply because aftermarket parts are installed. A specific claim can still be denied if a modification is determined to have caused the failure, and ECU changes are detectable. Warranty decisions are made by Toyota and its dealers, not by LIMIT+1.
Every product page lists the model years, trims, and drivetrain configurations the part is built for, and every collection on this site is organized by platform. If your vehicle carries other modifications, or you are between model years or trims, send us your year, trim, and current setup before ordering and we will confirm fitment.
GR86 & BRZ Drivetrain Parts and Upgrades
This collection covers GR86 and BRZ clutches, flywheels, engine mounts, short shifters, and differential hardware from Verus Engineering, XClutch, Whiteline, OS Giken, and the other manufacturers building for the platform.
The factory clutch holds naturally aspirated power without complaint, which means most owners upgrade it for feel and durability rather than capacity, or as a prerequisite to forced induction. A lightweight flywheel sharpens throttle response and helps free up revolutions. Engine mounts and bushings are the most cost effective drivetrain change with the biggest effect on shift feel and drivetrain slop, and a short shifter or upgraded bushings make the six speed feel far more deliberate. Upgraded gear and differential oil rounds out the category.
