    GR86 & BRZ Exhaust FAQs

Headers are the most impactful exhaust upgrade on the naturally aspirated FA24, since they can further optimize exhaust flow and pulse tuning, with different designs offering different characteristics in torque delivery, peak power, and sound. HKS and GReddy both offer header options tailored to either equal length or unequal length.

Behind the headers, a catback from AWE, Borla, Milltek, HKS, Invidia, or ISR Performance changes sound and sheds weight, with the header doing most of the work on drivability.

The FA24's factory exhaust manifold is the most restrictive portion throughout the exhaust system. Aftermarket headers can further optimize exhaust flow and pulse tuning, with different designs offering different characteristics in torque delivery, peak power, and sound.

Unequal-length headers will make more midrange power, while equal-length headers will make more top-end power. For primarily street use and a more pronounced boxer rumble, a UEL header can be favorable. For more track-focused use, we recommend an EL header.

Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void an entire factory warranty simply because aftermarket parts are installed. A specific claim can still be denied if a modification is determined to have caused the failure, and ECU changes are detectable. Warranty decisions are made by Toyota and its dealers, not by LIMIT+1.

Every product page lists the model years, trims, and drivetrain configurations the part is built for, and every collection on this site is organized by platform. If your vehicle carries other modifications, or you are between model years or trims, send us your year, trim, and current setup before ordering and we will confirm fitment.

GR86 & BRZ Exhaust Systems and Headers

On a naturally aspirated engine, exhaust design changes the shape of the power curve rather than simply adding a number at the top. This collection covers GR86 and BRZ headers, overpipes, front pipes, and catback exhausts such as AWE, HKS, Borla, aFe, ISR Performance, GReddy and the other manufacturers building for the platform.

Headers like the HKS super manifold or GReddy exhaust manifold are the change that alters how the FA24 delivers power and how it sounds, and most effective when paired with a LIMIT+1 x Boosted Performance Tuning GR86 Ecutek tune that takes advantage of it. A catback changes tone and reduces weight, with modest power gains by comparison, and it is the part of the car you hear on every drive. Notable systems such as the AWE Touring or Borla S-Type systems are popular options retaining dual tips. More track focused setups to help reduce weight are the HKS Hi-Power single racing version, ISR Performance GT single exhaust, and Invidia single exit full titanium.

Choose based on the sound characteristics you want to live with. Fitment for each system is listed on its product page.
