For a Lexus GX 550 trail build, suspension, armor and wheels and tires make the biggest difference. An ICON suspension system with upper control arms, Westcott Designs rock sliders and Rival 4x4 skid plates are a solid foundation for trail use.

For sound, an aFe cold air intake and a cat-back exhaust from Milltek, MagnaFlow, REMARK or aFe are straightforward bolt-ons. For owners who stay mostly on pavement, brake pads from EBC or PowerStop and a new wheel and tire package are practical everyday upgrades.

The GX 550 replaces the previous generation V8, which Lexus lists at 301 horsepower, with a 3.4L twin-turbo V6 rated at 349 horsepower and 479 lb-ft, paired with a 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic. It uses the GA-F platform introduced on the LX 600, and overall width grows by 3.74 inches, or 4.52 inches on Overtrail grades, compared to the previous generation.

The lineup includes Overtrail and Overtrail+ grades, which Lexus equips with 33-inch all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, an electronically controlled locking rear differential and E-KDSS. Because the platform is new, most suspension, engine and bolt-on parts for the previous generation GX do not carry over.

Parts in this collection with GX550 in the title are made for the 2024 and newer Lexus GX 550. Some items, such as wheels, lighting and accessories, are listed for several vehicles, so check the fitment notes on those listings. Parts for the previous generation GX generally do not carry over.

Some parts can differ by grade, since Overtrail and Overtrail+ have E-KDSS and, starting with the 2025 model year, a standard one-inch suspension lift. Contact us with your model year and grade if you want fitment confirmed before ordering.

Aftermarket parts do not raise the towing rating Lexus assigns to your GX 550. For the 2027 model year, Lexus lists towing capacity of up to 9,063 lbs for the Premium, Premium+ and Overtrail+ grades and 9,096 lbs for the Overtrail grade. Ratings vary by grade and model year, so confirm the figure for your vehicle in your owner's manual.

Armor, racks and other accessories add weight that counts against your GX's payload, and larger tires can make towing feel like more work. If you tow regularly, brake pads made for heavier use, such as PowerStop Z36 Truck & Tow or EBC Extra Duty pads, are worth considering.
