Overview
Designed specifically for the Toyota G16E-GTS engine, the HKS GROMMET HGK SUPER COOLING Pro head gasket is engineered to improve cylinder-to-cylinder cooling while providing enhanced combustion-chamber sealing for high-output and turbocharged applications.
The G16E-GTS can experience increased heat concentration around the center cylinder, which can contribute to a lower knock limit compared to the outer cylinders. HKS addresses this by revising the coolant flow through the head gasket and adding additional cooling passages to help reduce temperature and knock variation between cylinders.
The Super Cooling Pro gasket features enlarged coolant passages at the front of the cylinder head to improve overall head cooling, along with additional coolant passages around the direct-injection injector seal area and between the cylinders. The additional passages between the cylinders are designed to actively cool areas where heat can accumulate in the G16E-GTS.
HKS utilizes a grommet-type sealing structure, developed as a stronger alternative to its conventional stopper-type head gasket design for applications utilizing increased turbocharger boost and higher engine output.
Specifications
- 23002-AT007 — 0.8mm thickness, approximately 10.6:1 compression ratio
- 23002-AT008 — 1.0mm thickness, approximately 10.4:1 compression ratio
Both versions utilize an approximately 89mm modified bore opening and are designed for the G16E-GTS engine.
Important Installation Requirement
This is NOT a direct replacement head gasket. Additional machining of the cylinder head and cylinder block is required.
To utilize the additional cooling passages incorporated into the HKS gasket, the cylinder block and cylinder head must be machined to correspond with the gasket's revised coolant passages.
Professional installation and engine machining are required. This product should not be installed without following the HKS installation manual and the specified machining procedures.
