With SUPER COOLING, we have revised the flow of the coolant to reduce the variation in knock limit between cylinders.

Features

  • The cooling water passages flowing into the front head have been enlarged, improving cooling of the entire head.
  • A spare cooling water passage has been added to the direct injector seal. > Machine grooves in the head, as necessary.
  • A cooling water passage has been added between the cylinders. > Drill vertically through holes in the block and head to match the position of the gasket holes.

Stock GASKET vs HKS GROMMET GASKET

  • With the stock gasket, knocking occurs in the No. 2 cylinder, which tends to trap heat, so even though the ignition timing is retarded by 1 degree compared to the other cylinders, the No. 2 cylinder has the highest knock level.
